I read article by Craig Smith a while ago that I thought was good that relates to what you're talking about. He basically writes about how unhappy and ungrateful we, as Americans, are while enjoying freedoms that no one else in the world dreams of. I think sometimes our pride stems from ignorance of just how blessed we are. I think if more people - especially Christians - saw America for the land of opportunity that she is, our attitude would be one of gratitude and humility.
